I had the pleasure of getting to know this awesome family during this past year living in St Pete.  There is something unique about family sessions- you get a little glimpse of how the members of the family are their own people and yet fit together like a perfect, beautiful puzzle.  This session happened just before the family's eldest was leaving on a mission for the church so it may be the last time the family is just this way, likely there will big changes before they are all together again for pictures.  It's a good reminder to enjoy every second with my own kids who are very young still, but man, does time speed up more each year!  You have to take a second to capture it the way it is right now. 

The Phinney Family

When you have the opportunity to see old friends and take some photos too, it is the sweetest.  This fall family shoot was special for me, not only have I not seen these friends in YEARS, but I hadn't even met their beautiful new daughter!  Talk about a sweet baby.  I love the casual, fall style with pops of color on the kids.  The setting was gorgeous too; these were all taken at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.  It was such peaceful place and the evening light was so beautiful.  I am pretty sure I'd be there everyday if I lived up there- what a gem!

Just when you think you are the only girl in your Daddy's life, he goes and kisses Mom!  Her face though- and it was totally unprompted! 

First Birthday + Spring Family Shoot

First birthdays are such a special time!  It's a big milestone for the little one as they move into toddlerhood which can be somewhat sad and yet so exciting for Mom and Dad.  This spring family shoot felt like such a celebration for this sweet little family.  This is a great idea if you are not into the cake-smash trend for first birthdays or it can be a great thing to do before things get messy!  I am a huge proponent of at least a few family shots at child shoots because it is so fun to know what the whole family looked like when you were just one! 

Newborn

Look at this sweet angel.  I am used to newborns sleeping through most of the shoot, but this girl knows when she's on-camera!  She was ready to show off her deep blue eyes.

 

Something tells me this little lady will be well looked-after!

 

Summer Mini Sessions

Very limited spots available! Your choice of the Japanese gardens or Fairhope pier. 
Sessions start at 6pm. Get family photos done before the kids are back in school! Engagements, senior, fur babies, back to school, family photos, etc. are all possible during mini shoots. Email me for booking!

Cake Smash Fun!

There is something about the first birthday that is just so sweet and special.  I've been busy with cake smash shoots lately and they have been crazy fun to shoot and edit.  I cannot get enough of these sweet babies!
